Lee Yun Chai is one of the promising young harpist in Singapore. With many awards under his belt, at an early age he has managed to make his mark in the history of Singapore Harp music scene. Lee was the youngest to win a Harp international Competition at the age of 7 at the 16th Soka Nippon International Harp Competition Junior Division with 2nd Runner up (2004). Following this he continued to win other awards including Malaysia-Singapore Harp Competition (2011) Youth Division. In 2014, he clinched the prestigious First Prize at the 26th SOKA Nippon International Harp Competition (2014), Advanced Division and the 2014 Julliard Pre-college Open Concert Competition.

Born in Singapore, Lee Yun Chai began his harp studies at age 5 with Ms Katryna Tan. In 2013 at only age 15, Lee was successful in winning a place in the Juilliard pre-college Division and studied with June Han. After serving his National Service in Singapore, Yun Chai is currently continuing his Tertiery Harp studies in Julliard, studying under Nancy Allen.

Lee has been invited to perform in many international platforms including being the first to represent Singapore to perform in the 11th World Harp Congress (2011) in Vancouver, Canada. He was also a soloist with the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony performing in Lincoln Centre in 2014. Lee has also harp festivals in Singapore in addition to the International Harp Festival in Ancenis, France (2012), Bowdoin International Music Festival and Académie Internationale d’été de Nice. In 2006, he was invited to perform at a state banquet for Queen Elizabeth II and in 2008, at the Asian Harp Festival-Hong Kong Rising Stars. He has also guest performed and acted and performed in the “Pluck” Harp Musical as King.
