Sapphire began her harp studies at the age of 6, under the tutelage of acclaimed harpist Katryna Tan. Today, her musical journey continues to be filled with vibrancy, as she performs widely as a soloist and as a member of the Rave Harpers, both locally and internationally. In 2014, Sapphire was the winner of MediaCorp’s “Young Talents Project”, which was covered by the local and Hong Kong media. She was subsequently invited as a guest performer in the Raffles International Festival of Music 2014. Sapphire has represented Singapore in Harp Festivals in Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea and France, and with the Rave Harpers in the World Harp Congress 2014 in Sydney. She was selected to perform in the “Rising Stars of Asia” concert in both the Taiwan International Harp Festival 2015 and Asia Harp Festival 2016, and later in the “Focus on Youth” concert in the World Harp Congress 2017 in Hong Kong.

At 16 years of age, Sapphire performed the Harp Concerto in B-flat by Handel/Grandjany. As an avid orchestral musician, she performed actively with her school’s String Orchestra, Concert Band and Chinese Orchestra. Sapphire has also been invited as a guest harpist with the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra and was Principal Harpist with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra. She has been described by renowned harpist Isabelle Moretti as a “very promising and sensitive harpist”.

A Diploma with distinction awardee, Sapphire passion for the harp continues to expand between Classical Repertoire and exploring new genres on the Electric Harp.
